International Champions Cup: AS Roma Beat Real Madrid On Penalties

share on:

Roma overcame Real Madrid on penalties following a goalless draw in the International champions cup, consigning Benitez to a defeat in his first match in charge of Los Blancos.

Real Madrid fielded a strong side but Ronaldo and his counterparts which included Bale, Ramos, Marcelo and Modric looked off their usual pace and Roma’s equally strong side had the better chances during the match. Danielle De Rossi had the best chance of the game from six yards but his shot came off the cross bar and Roma held on despite a late flurry from Madrid to send the game into extra-time and penalties.

Everyone was scoring from the spot until Real Madrid’s Lucas Vasquez saw his spot kick stopped by Morgan De Sanctis before Roma converted theirs to win the game.
