Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola is eager to see Douglas Costa in action and the impact he can have on the Bayern team, after joining from Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Brazilian completed a €30 million transfer from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, as Bayern Munich look for long term replacement for both Ribery and Robben.
Shakhtar boss Mircea Lucescu subsequently claimed that the 24-year-old is not ready to make a serious impact on the first team but Guardiola feels his side need his new signing’s qualities.
“We needed a player with a lot of quality in one-on-ones,” he is quoted as saying by Sport.
“He is young, has played in the Champions League and has international caps. We’re convinced by him.”
