The game was back and forth throughout the first half. 6 minutes into the second half, Nigerian youngster, Iheanacho found the back of the net after Ashely Cole misplaced a back pass and the ball ended up on the 19 year old’s feet. Roma left it late as Miralem Pjanic scrored his second of the game with a free kick which beat Hart from 20 yards. Joe Hart won the game for Manchester City saving two penalties in the second half.
Sterling would be happy to have silenced all the pundits who were saying he would not succeed at the Etihad stadium at least for now.
