Kaduna state governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has advocated for the closure of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
El-Rufai made the comments when speaking at the at the 7th Wole Soyinka Centre Media Lecture Series in Abuja today.
The former FCT Minister criticized the body’s activities, stating his hope that President Muhammad Buhari would shut it down.
“If you don’t kill NNPC, it kill Nigeria,” El-Rufai said.
El-Rufai argued that the current NNPC, if allowed to continue in its corrupt excesses, would bring the country to ruin, and backed its closure and the setting up of a new national oil body.
