Di Maria had publicly stated his commitment to Manchester United and a campaign to get better next season but according to sources close to the Argentinian, he may be looking to unite with Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich with Paris Saint-Germain remaining an option.
Di Maria endured a torrid first season at Old Trafford and eventually lost his starting place at the club, leaving the Argentine frustrated but he bounced back at the Copa Amreica Tournament and was impressive for Argentina. However, Van Gaal’s purchase of Memphis Depay and the resurgence of Mata and Young mean that starting places may still be hard to come by for the Argentine next season if he doesn’t drastically improve. To make things worse, Di Maria’s UK home was robbed a few days back and the former Real Madrid star’s wife is too scared to return to the property and this might just be the circumstance that pushes the 27 year old to opt out of Manchester United.
Van Gaal has already stated that he would be willing to allow Di Maria leave the club even though he would rather not and Ed Woodward is believed to be pushing for a deal to see the former Benfica man leave the club.
Bayern Munich are still yet to make a move for Di Maria but PSG have been very open about their pursuit of the Argentine in the past one year.
