The Department of State Security is reportedly looking to freeze the bank accounts of embattled former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
According to The Punch, Dasuki is being investigated for misappropriation of funds, which is why the DSS wants his accounts frozen.
They are interested with the inflow and outflow of money from his account, as well as the sources of all money entering his account.
The DSS had accused Dasuki of felony, misuse of power and possession of destructive weapons, after recovering seven high calibre rifles (high assault weapons), several magazines, military related gears and 12 new vehicles, including five bulletproof cars.
“We will apply for a court order and the bank accounts of the former NSA would be frozen this week when the investigation starts. The present administration believes in accountability and will investigate how defence votes were spent,” an official from the DSS reportedly said.
