First off, I would like to personally thank you for constantly checking up on my blog! That truly means a lot to me. I try my best to keep it as lively and entertaining as possible for you guys. It’s honestly a true definition of myself. I sincerely apologize for not posting as frequently as people would like me to. At times, I don’t have a lot to talk about or interesting topics to discuss, while at others, I’m all over the place and can have up to three posts in a day! Please don’t mind me. I definitely have to work on the consistency of the postings on my blog.

Moving on to the main matter at hand Mr. Sicilian, this one na serious case! I hope you’re not just sweet talking any random girl you find around the corner oh? My brother, you need to be patient. A successful relationship requires two people who are ready to invest time and effort to establish a unified bond. I would advise that you properly evaluate the next lady that catches your eye before jumping into a relationship. What her likes/dislikes are, lifestyle and overall personality is like, to know if she’s truly compatible with you.

P.S: That doesn’t mean that you should stop cuddling oh! Being single can be a bit depressing at times and having someone to casually chill with is completely acceptable. Though, that shouldn’t be the only reason to jump into a relationship with them.

NK, I’ve been dating this guy for a while now and I feel like he’s my world. He’s Nigerian and loves to eat Nigerian dishes, but I don’t know how to cook Nigerian food. I’m Jamaican. I’m always disappointed in myself whenever he wants to eat Nigerian food and I can’t make it. His sister brings some over every once in a while, but I feel very bad about this. What would you suggest I do?

NK

My dear, please don’t feel bad. Growing up, my mother was always scared of having her children in the kitchen, so we never learned how to cook Nigerian food from her. I honestly can only make rice and stew, egg sauce and chicken pepper soup. I am not ashamed to say it! Lol.

Jamaican cuisine is similar to Nigerian, but it’s definitely quite different. I love the fact that you’re willing to learn from others and are open to trying new things. Your boyfriend also sounds like an absolute sweetheart and very understanding man.

I would advise that you begin by asking his sister for help. It’s obvious that he enjoys her style of cooking, so it will only be right to learn from the main source. This will give off a positive sign to his family because it shows that you have concern about your current situation and are willing to improve for your boyfriend’s benefit. She should be willing to assist you. There are also a lot of YouTube tutorials for Nigerian meals and allnigerianrecipes.com is a great website for you to pick up some new skills. I would also say that you start off by learning to prepare his favorite dish and work your way up from there. He will really like that! Let me know how it works out for you hun!

Bunmi M

Hi NK. I’ve visited your blog and see that you enjoy wearing makeup. I just started and would like to know you’re top 5 essential makeup products.

NK

My dear Bunmi. I am a definitely a true makeup lover! A lot of people get confused about what makeup is really meant for. Makeup is meant to ‘enhance’ your beauty and not shield it, so you shouldn’t just dump it on your face in large quantities and claim ‘fine face’. Down below are the top five makeup products I can’t live without.

  1. Primer- A good primer works wonders on your skin as a base to keep it mattified. This is super amazing for people with oily skin.
  2. Full coverage foundation- You can always build up your foundation. Start off with a small quantity and gradually add more if necessary.
  3. Brow pencil- Always choose a brow pencil that is close to or matches your brow color. Your brows can honestly make or break your look depending on how you fill them in.
  4. Lipstick- A good long lasting lip color always adds a great pop to the face
  5. Setting mist- This works like magic by holding your makeup intact for long hours during the day

Hope this helps! Don’t get carried away and paint your face like some people who look confused on these streets oh. Lol. Remember, less is more.
