The last is yet to be heard about the death of one Alhaji Olatunji Rasaq, popularly called Alhaji Gay, who was murdered by some unknown individuals few weeks ago in Alagbado area of Lagos state.
According to reports, more people have been arrested to join those already in custody.
Amongst those apprehended by the authorities are Abioye, the Baale of Temidire Alagbado, his son, and nine others.They were all arrested and detained over the weekend.
This was confirmed by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, who said 10 suspects, including Chief Abioye, were in Police custody at SDCII, Yaba, adding that investigations are ongoing.
However, Chief Abioye in his defense said: “The community organized the protest because of the activities of Tunji Alaso. The protest was a peaceful one until he came and disrupted it with his thugs.”
“How Alhaji Gay died, I have no idea; it was only a peaceful protest we had,” the chief stated
“The purpose of the conference was to create awareness in the area and to tell the world that Tunji has been threatening the peace of the community with his thugs as he was selling off people’s land which were vacant and even those that are under construction,” he added.
