Ahead of next week launch, Apple Music is already hitting up the big names in the music industry.
Pharrell Williams’s new single, “Freedom,” will debut exclusively on Apple Music next Tuesday.
Taylor Swift who had earlier convinced the company to reverse its earlier decision not to compensate artists during the three-month free trial has announced that she’ll lend her 1989 album to Apple Music. “And happily so,” she wrote in a series of tweets today.
Apple Music arrives June 30 with iOS 8.4.
Apple will pay 0.2 cents for each song streamed for free. That rate, however, does not include a smaller payment to music publishers for songwriting rights, which the company is still negotiating, Times reports
