Yemi Alade escapes fire: Singer escapes death in London

After Fuse ODG put The Black Entertainment Television Awards in their place for giving African acts their award in front of an empty audience before the main show, another nominee has followed suit.

Yemi Alade who was nominated alongside Fuse ODG, Wizkid,  Ghana’s Stonebwoy and Sarkodie, South Africa’s AKA and The Soil, Congolese singer Fally Ipupa, and Kenyan Afro-Pop band Sauti Sol is of the opinion that the Best International Act – Africa category should be scrapped since the award is handed not in front of the audience, but stage managed in an empty hall.

She made her feelings known on Instagram but unfortunately backed down and deleted the post.

unnamedAfrican artists need to stop grovelling and have some pride.
