A construction worker at the Olympic stadium in London was confirmed dead earlier today after he feel from a crossbeam at the stadium.
The Olympic stadium was going to be the venue for the Rugby world cup in 2016 and the new home stadium for West Ham. Metropolitan police reported that they received the call earlier in the morning that the unnamed 44 year old man had fallen and when an ambulance arrived at the scene, the patient was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at about 8:00am GMT.
All construction work has been stopped on the stadium and the police are set to investigate the circumstances of the death. Balfour Beatty, the construction company in charge of the erection of the stadium has stated that they would be working with the relevant authorities to aid the investigations.
