So the Roland Garros is of to a full swing, it is also known as the French Open and played on clay. The round of 16 is being rounded up and this few made it into the quarterfinals.

For the third time in his career, Jo-wilfried Tsonga is in the quarterfinals of the French Open, the Frenchman was cheered to a superb win over Tomas Berdych as he won 6-3 6-2 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 to make it into the quarterfinals.

Tsonga will face Kei Nishikori who beat Teymuraz Gabashvili 6-3 6-4 6-2.

Roger Federer beat Gael Monfils 6-3 4-6 6-4 6-1

Federer will go on to face Stan Wawrinka, who swept past Gilles Simon 6-1 6-4 6-2.

In 2015 Andy Murray has played 14 matches on clay and won all.

The Scot, seeded third, came back from a break down in the third set to win 6-4 3-6 6-3 6-2 in two hours and 51 minutes.

He goes on to face seventh seed David Ferrer, who beat ninth seed Marin Cilic 6-2 6-2 6-4.

Since 2008 when Ana Ivanovic won the title she hasn’t made it to the quarterfinals, but she did after she beat Ekaterina Makarova 7-5 3-6 6-1.

Defending champion, Maria Sharapova is out of the competition. For the last three years she has made it to the finals, but lost to Lucie Safarova. The Czech 28-year-old won 7-6 6-4 to progress to the quarter-finals for the first time in her career. Safarova will now face Garbine Muguruza in the last eight, after the Spaniard beat Italy’s Flavia Pennetta 6-3 6-4.

Serena Williams world number didn’t have a good start against Sloane Stevens, losing the first set 1-6 but when on to be victorious, winning 1-6 7-5 6-3.
