NYSC Investigates Killing Of Corps Member In Kwara
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has sent a representative to Ilorin, Kwara state to probe into the circumstances surrounding the death of a corps member, Miss Yetunde Shukrah Idowu.
The delegation led by the NYSC Director of Corps Welfare and Inspectorate, Mr. Michael Ahile, who met with the state Director of State Service, the police and the Emir of Ilorin, was received at the palace by Mogaji Are, Alhaji Aremu Zubair who vowed that the Emir would bring the culprits to book.
Mr. Ahile said, “The NYSC management receive the news of the death of Miss Yetunde Idowu with a heavy heart particularly the circumstances surrounding her dead. So the Director-General of the NYSC delegated us to come down to Kwara State to discuss with the security agencies and the traditional institution here to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of this corps member.
“The NYSC places importance on the welfare of corps members and when things like this happen particularly when they bother on death, the NYSC does not take it lying down and that is why we are here in Ilorin, Kwara State capital to see all the security agencies and the traditional institution that they would use their good offices to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of these corps member.
“As you know very well that corps members are on national assignment and its is the responsibility of all of us to protect them particularly the security agencies and the traditional institutional and the host communities.
“And so we want to condemn in very strong terms the death of this corps member and we call on the security agencies to unravel the circumstance surrounding the death and the people behind this death, the NYSC will not tolerate mindless killings of corps member on national assignment and we call on all the security agencies and the traditional institution in this state to do everything possible to find out who killed this corps member”.
If we recall, a female Corps member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) was found dead in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state.
According to report, Yetunde Shukurat Idowu, who is a serving corps member of the 2014 NYSC Batch ‘B’ set was last spotted shopping at a popular supermarket, Shoprite, located along Fate road.
Former Governor Nyako Of Adamawa Is In EFCC Custody
Impeached Governor of Adamawa state, Murtala Nyako has been apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. and is currently being grilled for fraud related charges.
Nyako is believed to have turned himself in earlier today.
According to an EFCC source who spoke with SaharaReporters Nyako carter away billions of naira from his state treasury and then escaped to the UK where he remained until last week.

Bruce Jenner has finally revealed his name as a female, which he has now transitioned into.
He revealed this via a newly opened Twitter account, @Caitlyn_Jenner, with Caitlyn being his name of choice.
Foreign media now addresses Bruce as ‘Cailtyn’ and as a ‘her’.

Buhari To Earn N14 Million Annually As President Of Nigeria
The Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC reveals that the new President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, and his deputy, Yemi Osinbajo, will earn annual basic salaries of N3, 514, 705 and N3, 031, 572.50 respectively.
Excluding the basic salaries, the president is entitled to various regular allowances like: Hardship, 50 per cent of the basic salary – N1, 757, 350.50; consistency – 250 per cent, N8, 786, 762.50.
When all allowances payable each month are sum up, President Buhari will take home N1, 171,568.33 each month, and N14, 058, 820.00 yearly, while the Vice President Osinbajo will take home N1, 010, 524. 17 monthly, and N12, 126,290.00 per annum.
According to Section 32 (d) of Part 1 of the Third Schedule of the Constitution, the RMAFC is statutorily empowered to determine the remuneration appropriate for political office holders.
The current salary structure and allowances were reviewed and fixed by the RMAFC in 2007.
Before the review, the basic annual salary of the then president, Olusegun Obasanjo, was N2,586,000 per annum, while that of his deputy, Atiku Abubakar was N1,938,000 the same as that of the Chief Justice of Nigeria and the Senate President, both heads of the judiciary and the legislature.
