Parma Set For Italian Fourth Division

share on:

The debt has caught up to them as 1999 UEFA cup and UEFA super cup winners, Parma have been relegated to amateur status and would begin next season in the fourth tier of Italian football.

The former Italian giants failed to find a buyer to clear off their debt which means they cannot register for Serie B or C which would mean they would play amateur football next season. Parma owes over 75 million Euros and were relegated from the Serie A. to register for the Serie B or C they have to clear off all their sporting debts (salaries to coaches and players) but they can’t which sees them relegated to the fourth tier.

Do not expect Parma to win the amateur division because they might be losing almost all their players this summer as a UEFA rule allows a player to leave a club for free is he is owed wages for over three months and Parma have not paid players in almost a year.
