Anytime I see a manager getting sacked, I remember this scene in True Lies, where a man sitting on a Rocket gets ‘Fired’ by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
I remembered said scene when Ancelotti got the axe and now I remember it when Inzaghi appears to have been fired.
The Italian took charge of the Rossoneri from former club legend and teammate, Clarence Seedorf when he got the upgrade from the youth team. Unfortunately Inzaghi underperformed and couldn’t guide the San Siro club to Europe, they instead have to settle for 10th place and midway through his two year contract Pippo got the sack.
The statement released on their site is so short, like the club doesn’t want to waste characters on a world cup winner.
“AC Milan announces that it has sacked the coach of the first-team squad, Filippo Inzaghi, who has been thanked for the work done,” read a short statement released on the club’s official website, confirming what everyone suspected for weeks.
They failed to secure Ancelotti and will have to settle for Sinisa Mihajlovic who stepped down as Sampdoria boss.
