Nigerian Senate Approves 46 Bills Within 10 Minutes

Dubbed to be a very rare feat, the Nigerian Senate on Wednesday passed a total of 46 bills in less than 20 minutes.

This was coming a day to the end of the four year tenure of the 7th National Assembly.

It was learnt that such a quick passage of bills, all introduced by Senator Ita Enang, generated furious reactions among other senators.

One of the bills approved by the senators is the Federal Savings Bank Act 2015, Tertiary Education Trust Fund Act Bill 2015 and the Community Service Bill.

The 7th National Assembly has come under intense criticism for its failure to judiciously use its time and resources at its disposal to make laws for the benefit of the people they represent.

According to reports, the 7th National Assembly spent a whooping N600 billion in four years and passed only about 108 bills within the period.
