From treble winner to troublemaker and now a ban that sees him outlawed from the remainder of the Copa.
It has been a bad week for Neymar, all by his own doing though. The Selecao captain was given a straight red after driving the ball into the back of Colombian defender and attempting a zidane on another Colombian defender, who happened to be the goalscorer in Brazil’s loss to Colombia.
The Barcelona man picked up a four match ban and $10, 000 in fine for causing such a melee, that involved the bench warmers also.
The ban means Neymar will miss Brazil’s last group match and any knockout stage match should Dunga’s men qualify.
Brazil can appeal the ban, but till then have to make do with Douglas Costa and Coutinho being a permanent feature in their starting XI.
