“My Clothing Size Doesn’t Define Me”, Plus Size Model Tess Holliday Slams Body Shamers

Plus-size model Tess Holliday has a message for all body shamers and she wants you to know her body size does not define her personality.

The 29-year-old model took to her Instagram to criticize the fashion industry’s inconsistency of clothing sizes and also to hit on all those who criticize her body.

Showing off the labels on clothes from some of her favorite brands; though each item is ‘her size’, the numbers are all surprisingly different.

She posted the photo with the caption;

‘In some brands I’m a 2x, in other’s a 3x… Sometimes a 4x! For my crop tops, they are mostly L from Forever 21,’ she wrote in the caption for the picture, which she took while cleaning out her closet. ‘That’s a massive difference! [sic]’

Tess went on to say that clothing sizes vary so much that it wouldn’t even matter to her if people called her a size zero or a size 28. The number written on her clothing tags doesn’t define her, she explained.

However, being plus-size has certainly defined her career successful, as the model has earned fame for taking ownership of the plus-size label and advocating for more body-positive images in the media.
