Treble winning manager, Luis Enrique has signed a new contract with Barcelona which extends his stay at the Catalan club until 2017. This comes after there was widespread speculation that the former Celta Vigo trainer was leaving the European Champions in the summer.
Enrique came in after Barcelona had ended the 2013/2014 season trophyless and Gerardo Martino had departed the club. Enrique was able to navigate a tough first few months and manage a crisis that threatened to tear the club apart and still end up with a clean sweep of trophies this season. Barcelona president, Josep Bartomeu was very impressed with the former Barcelona player’s managerial skills and decided to keep the manager on for a further season
