The former VC of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Prof. Albert Ilemobade was not abducted as widely speculated, but believed to have been killed while sleeping.
New Telegraph reported that he was murdered in his sleep.
The erstwhile VC was declared missing last Monday with his driver after he could not be found in his bedroom.
Attempts to locate him proved abortive, as the family of Ilemobade had expected the supposed kidnapers to call for ransom.
However, iIlemobade’s domestic aides have confessed that they sneaked into his bedroom at night and killed him.
The police, reported that the two men – driver and gateman – slaughtered Ilemobade last Monday and dumped his body in his car park.
They also poured diesel on the body and fled in his car. The suspects, identified simply as Yemi and Daniel, had made the crime to look like a kidnap.
