England Lucky To Beat Slovenia 3-2

A jack Wilshere brace was necessary for England to beat Slovenia Group E of the 2016 Euro qualifiers after both teams came from behind once each.

England began the game, dominating the play and looking to drive at the Slovenian defense with the pace of Raheem Sterling but the three lions were caught short by a pass from Josip Illicic in the 37th minute as the ball found Novakovic who made no mistake as he was one on one with Joe Hart. England struggled to equalize before the break but it was to no avail. England bean the second half really chasing the game and were rewarded in the 57th minute when WIlshere dove a rocket into the Slovenian goal from the edge of the area. In the 73rd minute England took the lead through Wishere who was fired the ball home from distance after some good build up play by Lallana and Henderson. Slovenia thought they had rescued a point in the 84th minute as Penik out jumped Gibbs to nod past Joe Hart. Rooney however stole the show for England as he placed the ball into the net from the edge of the area with four minutes to go.

England are still yet to drop a point in their Euro qualifiers and currently sit top of Group E.
