The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has concluded plans to restructure the Kaduna government, by reducing the number of Ministries in the State from 19 to 13 and subsequently cutting the cost of government expenses.
In a statement released on Tuesday by the Special Assistant for Media and Publicity to the Governor, Samuel Aruwan, He stated that the Minister for Lands, Survey and Country Planning will be moved to the Governor’s Office as a department.
Furthermore, the Ministry for Rural and Community Development will become a department of the Deputy Governor’s office.
The statement also said that, “the Governor will also limit the number of aides that the 13 commissioners will recruit.”
The new ministries will be composed of the Ministry of Justice, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Agriculture and Forestry, Youth, Sports and Culture, Local government, Environment and Natural Resources; and the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Water Resources, Health and Human Services, Ministry for Education, Science, and Technology, The Ministry for Finance, Works, Housing, and Transport. and the Ministry for Budget and Planning.
