Once a red always a red. Former United striker Andy Cole has advised his former club to go for Aguero instead of Kane.
Kane was exceptional in his breakout season in the EPL, scoring 21 goals in 34 matches. But we are not all new to one hit wonders, look at Eamon, I know that’s music but you get my logic.
Aguero is a veteran of the EPL, he netted 24 goals in 33 appearances. Cole who scored 121 goals for United, is just worried Kane is too inexperienced and would rather United make an audacious bid for the Argentine forward than splurge on Harry Kane who might not deliver as a CF.
“There’s talk of Harry Kane. He’s had a brilliant first season. But then can he come to Manchester United? And if it is true, for £40m (€55m), can he bring to Manchester United what they need?” he told Goal.
“I think the kid’s talented. We have to be honest, he’s had half a season where everything went for him, like penalties at the keeper and rebounds are coming straight to his feet.
“He’s scored some goals. But to take that leap, because your second season in the Premier League is always tough, if it did happen and he was to leave Tottenham and come to United and for them to pin all their hopes on him – that’s a hell of a lot of pressure for that money.
“Manchester United need to compete in Europe and for the championship as well. He’s a baby and still learning his trade.
“Whoever comes to Manchester United as a centre forward is going to be under a hell of a lot of pressure. They need to get somewhere and if I was being cheeky, I would give you £60m (€82m) for Aguero because Aguero, fit, is the best centre forward in the Premier League.
“Fit, firing, hes unbelievable. You can imagine him playing alongside Wayne Rooney. It wouldn’t be bad, would it?”
