Chill Pill Doctor: James Rodriguez Says He Tried To Calm Neymar Down

James Rodriguez of Colombia and Real Madrid has made it known that he attempted to calm La Liga playing mate, Neymar after the Brazilian got sent off after the match.

The Barcelona star started a fracas that saw him and Sevilla striker Bacca get sent off. Neymar drove the ball into opposition full-back Pablo Armero after the final whistle before appearing to aiming a headbutt at Jeison Murillo, who had tried to intervene.

Attacking midfielder James Rodriguez said he tried to calm Neymar down.

“At the end of the match I told Neymar to stay calm,” the Real Madrid attacking midfielder told reporters. “I also went through that four days ago when we lost to Venezuela. That day I felt really angry.”

Brazil are second in Group C ahead of their final match against Venezuela, while Colombia sit third – but level on points with the former two teams – with a Peru clash on the horizon.
