The Rector of Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi has been suspended by the Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abubakar, following students’ strike and protest.
The suspension notice was delivered on Wednesday, via the Governor’s Head of Service, Abdun Dallah Gin, who accused the Rector of alleged mismanagement of funds.
According to the governor, the suspension of the Rector of the institution followed students’ protest and strike by lecturers.
It was learnt that the furious students created a blockade along the Bauchi-Jos major roads on Tuesday.
The governor revealed that a high powered committee has been constituted to look in to the grievances of the academics staff and the students of the institution.
