Argentine Football Legend To Run For FIFA Presidency

Diego Maradona intends to run for the FIFA presidency, A Uruguayan author by the name of Victor Hugo Morales has reveled

Maradona has openly criticised FIFA on various occasions and only last month told a local radio station he was “enjoying” the crisis engulfing world football’s governing body.

Sepp Blatter recently resigned as the president of the World Football organisation but although remains in post pending a timetable for a new election which is likely to happen In December or January

Hugo Morales said

“He told me he was going to run for president of FIFA and authorised me to inform,”

“‘I am a candidate’ were the words Diego Maradona used to answer me when I consulted him about the nomination for the presidency of FIFA.”

Former Brazil star Zico has also announced his intention to run, while Liberian FA boss Musa Bility last week said he would stand.
