Between 20 and 30 policemen die every month, leading to a weakness in the Nigerian Police Force, Solomon Arase (Inspector General Of Police) revealed yesterday.

The IGP revealed this on his visit to the Chairman of the Police Commission, Mike Okiro, stating that the officers who lost their lives while serving the nation hardly ever get replaced. Speaking further, he advised for more recruitment into the force seeing as this will better position the unit, and ensure better performances in matters of safety and security.

Arase also complained that certain officers had remained in fixed positions for way too long, stressing the need for an overhaul in the system.
