To say Daniel Sturridge’s career has been hampered by injury would be an understatement and his issues don’t seem to be behind him as the Liverpool man is set to miss the rest of the season and the start of next after undergoing a hip surgery in the United States.
Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers confirmed that the forward would miss the start of next season, talking to press men ahead of his sides premier league clash against Chelsea.
“We anticipate he’ll be back to train around September and then it’s about getting his fitness,” Rodgers told reporters. He added: “We are hopeful issues he’s had have been resolved.” The former Chelsea man has been unable to step into Suarez shoes and live up to the heights of his 24 goal haul of last season due to injuries but promised via his twitter handle to come back better and help the club achieve great things.
Liverpool might look to bring in a new forward as Balotelli has been a flop and they seem set to still miss Sturridge and he would remain an injury risk when he returns next season.
