Coutinho performances for Liverpool have been nothing short of Mercurial this season as he was the only Liverpool player to be nominated for the PFA player of the year award as well as being the only Liverpool player to be named in the PFA eleven of the season. Coutinho was a sure fire Liverpool player of the year, but as is often Liverpool’s story, the underdog triumphed as Mignolet was voted player of the year by Liverpool fans.

Mignolet who at some point was dropped in the season came back and underwent a serious resurgence making some wonderful saves and being in great form as well as proving to be very good with his feet. As if that was not enough, Mignolet has kept 13 clean sheets this season, the joint highest in the league and the Belgian is in line to win the golden glove award.

Congratulations top Mignolet and kudos to Liverpool fans for noticing the unsung heroes.
