Reading To Offload Aiyegbeni

Reading may have made it to the semifinals of the FA cup but a terrible run in the championship that saw them finish in 19th place has forced manager, Steve Clarke to shake things up at the club and a few players have been told they can leave, among them is Nigerian veteran, yakubu Aiyegbeni.

Aiyegbeni who has 95 premier league goals to his credit from his time with Everton, Portsmouth, Middlesbrough and Balckburn Rovers has been disappointing in recent times with just one goal in his last seven games. Clarke told the 32 year old who is most popular for failing to score from two yards with an empty goal against South Korea at the 2010 World Cup that he is free to start looking for a new club.

Zat Knight, Danny Guthrie and Mikkel Andersen have also been told that like Aiyegbeni, they do not have any place in Reading’s future.
