Mikel And Ememnike have paid the price for lack of appearances and lack of form respectively for their clubs as both players missed out on Keshi’s invited squad for the AFCON qualifier against Chad.
Both players were not particularly stars for their clubs this season and were deemed not good enough to be among the 15 players who play outside Nigeria who were invited to camp. While Odion Ighalo has been given his chance, Ahmed Musa and Enyeama also made the list alongside Ogenyi Onazi.
Below is the list of invited foreign players
Goalkeeper: Vincent Enyeama (Lille OSC, France)
Defenders: Godfrey Oboabona (Rizespor FC, Turkey); Kenneth Omeruo (Middlesbrough FC, England); Leon Balogun (Darmstadt 98, Germany); William Troost-Ekong (FC Dordrecht, The Netherlands); Kingsley Madu (AS Trencin, Slovakia)
Midfielders: Ogenyi Onazi (SS Lazio, Italy); John Ogu (Hapoel Be’er Sheva); Babatunde Michael (Volyn Lutsk, Ukraine); Rabiu Ibrahim (AS Trencin, Slovakia); Anderson Esiti (Estoril FC, Portugal); Steven Ukoh (Biel-Bienne FC, Switzerland)
