Bayern Munich had Barcelona pegged down for the better part of 80 minutes and then, Lionel Messi inevitably breeched yet another defense to all but send Barcelona into the UEFA Champions league final curtsy of a 3-0 win.
Bayern were excellent in defense in the first half and looked dangerous on the break but Barcelona controlled possession for much of the first half with Suarez and Alves both missing one on one chances either side of Rafina goal line clearance from a Neymar strike. Bayern started the second half with more intent but Barcelona soon took control of the game and forced Bayern to defend deep and the German champions defended well until the 77th minute when Bernat lost the ball to Dani Alves in his half. The former Sevilla man went on to feed Messi whose shot from just outside the box was too good for Manuel Neuer who had, by any standard an excellent match. Messu would make it 2 for himself and Barcelona three minutes later as he received the ball from Rakitic, turned Boateng inside out before chipping the ball over Neuer to score his 10th goal of the UEFA Champions league this season. Neymar wrapped up the game for Barcelona in the 87th minute with a tidy finish following a counter attack by Barcelona.
Bayern now have it all to do in 6 days at the Allianz but you get the feeling this job is a little too much for the German Bundesliga champions
