The Officer in Charge of the Ogun State Special Anti Robbery Squad, Tijani Mohammed, has nailed three pastors and a herbalist in connection with the kidnap of a United State-based Nigerian in the State.

The gang was traced to a hideout where men of the Anti Robbery Squad foiled their evil attempts. Further findings by our correspondents say it is a 5-man gang or so, and they have successfully put the residents in a state of insecurity this whole time. The gang has carried their nefarious activities in the Ijebu area of the State, according to reports.

Speaking to newsmen, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said they were apprehended at Ita-Marun, Ijebu Ode, by the Special Anti Robbery Squad on Tuesday, 26th May. The suspects include one Ganiyu Olaiya, Segun Makanjuola, Bayo Adekunle and  Bisi Akinleye. It is reported that the pastors and herbalist lured the returnee with talks of providing him spiritual assistance over issues he was said to be passing through.

“The fifth member of the gang lost his life during an exchange of fire with the police at their hideout.”

“Police recovered one locally-made pistol loaded with cartridges and one Cherokee jeep with number plates LND 25 CE from the suspects,” Adejobi said.
