I’m Not Dictator: Blatter Hits Out At Critics

share on:

Before withdrawing from the race for the FIFA presidency, Luis Figo called current president, Sepp Baltter a dictator and the Swiss has replied claiming that Figo has his right of opinion.

Figo and Van Praag both withdrew from the presidential race sighting manipulations by Sepp Blatter as the reason with the Portuguese legend having more than a few things to say about the man who has been FIFA president for the past 17 years. Blatter however responded in an interview with BBC saying “Luis Figo is free to say what he wants to say. You can ask him why he called me a dictator. I have received so many titles, but I am still the president until Friday. You know me, I’m an optimist so of course I’m confident of winning the election.”

Blatter would earn a fifth term. What do you call a man who has ruled for 17 years, always seems to get his way, and wants to continue ruling at 79?
