Manchester United’s latest signing, Memphis Depay just keeps getting hyped in the media every week. Yesterday, Queens Park Rangers midfielder, Leroy Fer, who was part of the Dutch contingent at the world cup alongside Depay told the media that Depay could be as important for Manchester United as Cristiano Ronaldo was.
Depay completed a move to Manchester United last week and is already being touted as the next big thing at Old Trafford after taking the Eredivisie by storm this season, scoring 21 goals. and Fer has been talking up his international teammate in the media. “He won’t be scared and that’s what I like about him. He will enjoy the comparison with Ronaldo and he will be a big player,” the Dutch midfielder told reporters. “He’s not as tall as Ronaldo but he’s very talented, he’s strong, he’s quick, he’s got the skills and he can score goals. He’s a massive player and he’s going to be big in Manchester. Fer also went on to allay any fears at the Dutchman not being able to adapt. “Of course he has to adapt to the Premier League and United are one of the biggest clubs but I don’t think it’s going to be hard for him because he’s a very confident player.”
Despite being relegated with QPR last weekend, Fer is confident about the future and excited to see another Dutch star make the move to the premier league
