Report have emerged that the three bicycle riders who rode for over 870km from Bauchi to Sokoto to congratulate the Governor-elect and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, on his victory in the April 11 governorship elections in the state, have arrived by 11.00 am on Monday after spending nine days on the road.
Mohammed Samaila, Nuhu Ibrahim and Nasiru Ya’u, were alleged to have ridden their bicycles for over 870 kilometres from Bauchi and arrived Sokoto.
Speaking to pressmen, after their arrival at the residence of Tambuwal at Gawon Nama area of Sokoto metropolis, Mohammed Samaila said, “We decided to ride our bicycles to Sokoto to honour Tambuwal because of his steadfastness and commitment towards bringing an end to the visionless and incompetent Peoples Democratic Party-led administration in the country.
“In fact, we faced many challenges while on the road and were forced on two occasions, to repair our bicycles when they developed problem”
He disclosed that they came with messages for Tambuwal from people they met in some villages, who urged the incoming governor to partner with Buhari to tackle unemployment, poverty and corruption in the country.
In response to this, the Personal Assistant to the Governor-elect, Malam Musa Girkau, guaranteed that Tambuwal will join hands with President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, to bring the desired change the state and country at large need.
