No matter how calm the situation is, as a football fan, you can always expect Mourinho to reach into the deck at any point in time and pull out the “spark controversy” card. Despite dominating the PFA team of the year 11 with 6 of his players making the cut, Jose Mourinho was still not satisfied as he made it clear that every member of his squad should be on the team.
Jose Mourinho was speaking to reporters after the awards ceremony which saw his star player, Eden Hazard pick up the award for player of the year, and he stated that every member of his squad deserved to be on the PFA team of the year. Despite praising every member of the team, Mourinho was quick to criticize the team as a whole. When asked how many of his players should have made the team, Mourinho responded saying All of them. I think so. But I know that this is a Chelsea manager speaking and obviously I respect every one of the players that were in that team. And especially everyone that chooses. The players from the other teams have the right to choose.” Mourinho went on to criticize the PFA team of the year with a back handed comment saying “Great players were in that team and great players outside that team. This season Fabregas is doing the number of assists, the quality of his game and not to be there is a bit strange. I think that team wouldn’t win the Premier League. It’s a team without any balance. That team is missing a midfield player. I think that midfield player should be Fabregas.” Classic Jose.
Do you agree with the happy one, with the quality of defenses sitting in front of them and number of match winning saves both goalkeepers have made, did Courtois outperform De Gea? If Coutinho had a quality forward on the end of his passes wouldn’t he have created more goals? Does it go unnoticed that asides Harry Kane and Aguero, players like Charlie Ausitn of QPR have overachieved, banging in 16 premier league goals despite playing for a relegation threatened side? Has Azpillicueta been more effective than Ryan Bertrand at the left back position this season? Have Willian or Oscar had the same effect for Chelsea as Sanchez for Arsenal or has either of the Brazilians put in the same level of performances as the Chilean? All these questions have to be put forward to “the happy one”
