Search Begins For Missing Kids, Police Look Around For Abductors

share on:

Police, yesterday, began investigative operations as regards three kids who have been missing since April 8th. The kids were abducted in the Surulere axis of Lagos State.

In incredible circumstances, Aderomola Orekoya (11 months), 4-year-old Adedamola Orekoya and Demola Orekoya (6) disappeared with Mary Akinloye, their 23-year-old housemaid on Wednesday. Mary had reportedly left the house to buy something nearby, our sources say.

The Nigerian Police Spokesperson in the State, Kenneth Nwosu, has revealed that thorough efforts are ongoing to apprehend the abductor and all those she conspired with to carry out the evil act.

Nwosu expressed optimism stating that the police force would do all it can to get to the root of the matter.

Nwosu, whilst speaking with Daily Trust, said: “It is quite unfortunate. The parents of the children actually contracted the services of the house maid through an online recruitment agency without finding out those behind the fake outfit.”
“We have always advised parents to cross-check information on those they intend to recruit as house helps, nannies, cooks, gardeners or security men because some of them might be fake. A similar incident occurred sometime last year at Magodo area before the kids were rescued by the police.”
“The Commissioner of Police, Kayode Aderanti, has directed a 24-hour manhunt for the maid. We are optimistic that we will rescue the kids alive and we will also arrest those behind the abduction”

As the police carry out investigations, members of the public are implored to help out in whatever ways possible as no pointer leading to the recovery of the kids is too little.
