It is safe to say that Real Madrid and the BBC (Bale-Benzema-Cristiano Ronaldo) attacking trident have digged themselves out of the trench of bad form they were stuck in.
Ronaldo for one was on fire and notched another feather to his very feathery hat. The Portuguese international is running out of achievements to stencil his name under, but he netted his fastest hattrick in a Real shirt, and his first since December, a feat he accomplished within 38 minutes.
Bale and Benzema also featured in this emphatic show of dominance and ridiculously high scoreline. A 9-1 trumping of Granada.
Real were far from their fluent best early on, but a Bale opener set the tempo. Bale who has been in ridiculous form for his country continued his show dominance up front when he scored in the 25th minute. His goal opened the floodgate of goals for Real Madrid.
The returning James Rodriguez was on hand to assist Ronaldo’s first of the day, this was in the 30th minute. The 36th saw former United man, Cristiano Ronaldo latch on to a loose ball and make it three for Madrid and two for him. He wasn’t done though, cause two minutes later he completed his hattrick and made it four for the Home team.
The second half started in full swing and it was a good day for Rodriguez to be back, as he assisted another goal, but the converter was Karim Benzema, all three Madrid forwards netted.
Two minutes later and guess who unselfishly gifted the ball to Ronaldo who made it 4 for him and 6 for Madrid? Welshman Gareth Bale assisted as Ronaldo converted. Is this the transformation we’ve been waiting for? It seems every two minutes a Madrid man scores a goal, and Benzema completed his brace as Arbeloa turned provider.
Robert Ibanez dented Madrid’s hope of getting a clean sheet as he netted a compensation goal for Granada.
As if Granada did not have enough problems, Mainz a defender for the away team thought it a good time to score for the opposition and make it 8-1 in the 83rd minute.
A Modric freekick gave Ronaldo his fifth of the day in the 89th minute. To end their misery, one minute of added time was what was given and the ten goal thriller ended.
Madrid close the gap to just one point as Barcelona face Celta later in the evening.
