Hello guys. It’s another week and we are back with Throw Back Thursday, a set of timeless Nigerian songs for your listening pleasure. We trust you all have had a swell day so far, yea? Great. In the event you missed last week’s TBT, have a look here.
Moving on, our focus is on Asa this week. Born in Paris, France; Bukola Elemide popularly known as Asa was raised in Alagbole, Ogun State. Alagbole shares close borders with Lagos, but has strong traditional elements which explain the indigenous influences in her music.
Growing with three brothers also helped shape her train of thought as a little girl, as well as her father’s unique music library that boasts Artistes as Marvin Gay, Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, Aretha Franklin and King Sunny Ade; all legends in their own rights. Her career kick-started after a friend introduced her to Cobhams Asuquo. And since that point, it’s been galactic all the way.
Enough said, enjoy 6 classic materials of hers from back in time on our Throw Back Thursday this week –
Song Title: Fire On The Mountain
Song Title: Jailer
Song Title: Awe
Song Title: Bibanke
Song Title: So Beautiful
Song Title: Eye Adaba
This will be all for this week. Thank you all for your time again, stay on this page for another version of our OldiesButGoodies next Thursday. Peace!
