At the Idunganran Palace of the royal family in Lagos, Oba Rilwanu Akiolu, on Sunday, held a prayer gathering during which he prayed for a peaceful Lagos co-existence. Imam Mujitabah Giwa, the Alawiye of Lagos, and his league of Imams led the prayer session.
This happens against the backdrop of last week’s outburst which had the Oba speaking in harsh, divisive words aimed at the Igbos in the State.
News Agency of Nigeria reports that Oba Akiolu organized the prayers given the need for a more peaceful co-existence in Lagos, and the entire nation.
The Oba charged the various tribes to come together and shun every element of tribalism and discord in the State.
He also called upon the president-elect, Rtd. General Muhammadu Buhar,i to help out with the reconstruction of federal roads in the state.
