share on:

Ibrahim Tanko, INEC Supervising Ad Hoc staff has been apprehended by the Police in the Sambo Ward of Rijau LGA of Niger State.

He was caught with already thumb-printed ballot papers on Friday, the night leading to the governorship and house of assembly elections. Reports say the ballot papers had PDP marked on them.

Tanko had, after collecting the election materials, reportedly complained of insufficient materials upon which he was provided with some more. Meanwhile other agents of opposing political parties became suspicious upon seeing, then notified the police which led to further investigations revealing the already thumb-printed papers which would inflate the figures in favor of the PDP.

The incident has been confirmed by the INEC Head of Voter Education Unit in Niger State, Malam Mohammed Wase. Our sources say further investigations by the commission are ongoing.
