The Nigerian Football Federation have announced a deal with American sportswear giants which will see Nike take charge of designing kits for all men and women teams. The deal is expected to last until 2018 and takes effect from the 1st of April 2015.
Nike has said it would design a special edition kit for the National teams before the launch of the 2016-2017 Nike which would be available in mid-2016. Nike is also going to design training gear and training equipment for the national team as well as various products for fans to show their support for the super eagles. NFF President, Amaju Pinnick described the partnership as onr that would be mutually beneficial to both parties while the VP of Nike Africa, Laurent Payre who described Nigeria as one of the biggest countries in African football expressed delight at being able to close the deal. Fans would be looking forward to seeing the flying eagles on the 21st of May as they look set to be the first team to done the newly designed outfit when they travel to New Zealand for the World Youth Championship.
Nigeria’s previous deal with Adidas was not renewed as both parties couldn’t agree on contract terms and Nigeria joined the likes of Brazil and England who are being clothed by Nike.
