Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has said that he will never accept the electoral victory of former Minister of State for education and gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the state.
He further described the election as a daylight robbery.
Mr Amaechi said this while reacting to comments made by the Minister of State II for Foreign Affairs, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro via popular social media platform, Twitter, that the outgoing governor of the oil rich state should concede defeat and congratulate the winner in the interest of Rivers.
Amaechi via same platform replied Mr Obanikoro saying:
“Because of the larger interest of Rivers state, I and most Rivers people will not accept that daylight robbery they called elections.
“The election was a sham, a disgrace, an affront on democracy.
“Please read the reports of EU and other INEC accredited election observers before you open your mouth to spew rubbish.
“If your values are so debased and rotten that you saw nothing wrong with the elections in Rivers State, mine is not. Never will.”
