With Liverpool yet to play, these are the results from this weekend in the premier league.

Swansea 1-1 Everton
Southampton 2-0 Hull
Sunderland 1-4 Crystal Palace
Tottenham 0-1 Aston Villa
West Brom 2-3 Leicester
West Ham 1-1 Stoke
Burnley 0-1 Arsenal
QPR 0-1 Chelsea
Man. UTD 4-2 Man. City

Arsenal went into the match against Burnley on a high, with Burnley the obvious underdogs. Arsenal were favourites on paper to win. Little did they know that Burnley came prepared, a goal from Ramsey in the 12th minute the only difference. Arsene Wenger’s men are the first premier league team to win eight consecutive matches this year, a feat last achieved by the Arsenal invincibles of 2003-04 season. Arsenal are second on the table.

Tension is mounting and everybody is chasing Chelsea. QPR meant to hold down the fort at Loftus Road and what a feat it was for Chelsea to break down the defence. QPR were solid in defence and dangerous on the attack, forcing brilliant saves from Courtois, with Chelsea not getting any reasonable shot at goal. With Remy and Costa sidelined due to injuries, Drogba was the point man and he was unproductive. Chelsea’s only shot on goal was the winner. Clever play from Hazard gave Fabregas the ball, which he pocketed into the post in the 87th minute to grant Chelsea the win. Chelsea sit at the top of the table.

The Manchester derby is a crunch match in its own. With United unstoppable and City looking like a caricature of themselves it was still too close to call. United has lost the lat five derbies, so statistics did not favour them. City Drew first blood when Aguero scored his seventh derby goal in the seventh minute. An Ashley Young goal levelled matters and a Fellaini goal via a Young assist put United in front in the 27th minute. Super comeback for United. Midway through the second half and Mata made it three. Amidst offside speculations, Smalling made it four and put the game to bed. Aguero’s second goal was nothing more than a record, as it became his 100th goal for city. United face Chelsea next. United are third and four points ahead of fourth placed City.
