Hernandez The Hero As Real Madrid Advance To UCL Semifinal

share on:

Javier Hernandez was brought to Real Madrid on loan by Ancelotti to play a bit part role this season but he seems to have made a huge difference in the UEFA champions league defending champions’ campaign. His 88th minute strike at the Bernabeu was the only goal over two legs of Madrid derbies, earning his side a place in the semifinal for the fifth year running

In what was an open game, both side looked to capitalize on the other teams weakness but both defenses were on top of their game until the 88th minute when Ronaldo got in behind the Atletico defense and had the presence of mind to lay a pass into the path of Chicharito, who made no mistake, finishing well to send Madrid into the semifinals.

Real Madrid are currently on the way to susccessfully defending the champions league. Ronaldo came close to doing that in 2009 with Manchester United but he was on the losing side against Barcelona. The Portuguese would be looking to make things right this year.
