With the season coming to an end and Chelsea on the brink of winning the Premier League, the award ceremony for individual awards held yesterday. Chelsea’s attacking midfielder and Belgian international, Eden Hazard, who was nominated for the PFA player of the year and PFA young player of the year awards alongside Kane, Costa, Sanchez, Coutinho and De Gea, has been named the PFA player of the year.
Hazard’s consistency is what has set him apart from the other contenders, beating off competition from De Gea, against who he netted the lone and crucial goal when Chelsea faced United.
Hazard scored 13 goals for Chelsea and has eight assists under his belt this season so far.
Kane on the other hand, who has been exceptional this season won the PFA young player of the year award. He also like Hazard, saw off competition from the likes of Hazard himself and De Gea, who were both front runners for the prestigious award.
Kane, 21, who plays as a forward for Tottenham and internationally for England has 20 goals in the premier league and 30 goals in all competitions.
