The tension generated following the current confrontation between the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers in Ekiti state and Governor Ayodele Fayose has grounded activities in the state.
According to reports, the State governor who was served an impeachment notice by the APC lawmakers over alleged gross misconduct relating to the performance of his official functions has vowed to fight to the end.
The Nation publication has it that Fayose urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, (drivers, commercial motorcyclists and market women) to rise and defend the mandate they gave him at last year’s election.
Daily activities in the state has been grounded as PDP members from all the 16 local government areas on April 19, stormed the Assembly complex, chanting the PDP slogan – power and raining curses on the APC legislators whom they accused of harbouring plots to set the state on fire with the impeachment proceedings.
Students were sent home from school as civil servants and business owners have also remained in doors due to the uncertain political atmosphere in the state.
