Rebellion in Rebellion
Chris Obi Rapu; the illustrious director of Living in Bondage 1, Taboo 1, Evil Passion, Circle of Doom 2 and a couple of other films of the early/mid 1990s; stages a comeback in Rebellion in Rebellion, a film, which tells the story of Sergeant Ndukwe (Nkem Owoh), a military man who abandons his duty post and invades the sleepy village of Kama during the Biafran civil war, wreaking untold havoc on the hapless community, whose populace never thought they would become casualties of the war.
Ngozi Nwosu, Charles Inojie, Grace Amah, Sam Sony and a host of other actors join Nkem Owoh to bring Rebellion in Rebellion to life with Chika Okpala (Chief Zebrudayah) and renowned photographer Don Barber, making guest appearances. Shot on location in Enugu, the film is co-directed by Nkem Obi Rapu, Chris Obi Rapu’s daughter, who is an American trained film-maker.
Rebellion in Rebellion was written by Adelarin Awotedu and Oluwabori Ijimakinde, two of the 10 workshop participants at the 2014 Africa International Film Festival, AFRIFF, chosen to do a short film course at the Relativity School in the US this summer.
It will be recalled that after shooting the aforementioned movies and a few others, Obi Rapu relocated to USA in 1995, where he is rounding off his PhD in Organizational Psychology.
