Manchester United reject, Danny Welbeck returned to Old Trafford to conquer his former team an ensure that his current team, Arsenal advance to the Semi finals of the 2014/2015 FA cup following a 2-1 Victory Over Manchester United.

Both teams started the game on the front foot and Arsene Wenger kept his promise as Arsenal attacked whenever the opportunity presented itself and in the 25th minute, the attacking paid off as some good build up play by Sanchez and Cazorla released Monreal in the box who lifted the ball over De Gea and into the net to give Arsenal the lead. Arsenal’s lead lasted only 4 minutes as Di Maria whipped in a beautiful cross which was met by Rooney’s diving header, flying past a helpless Szcezny into the Arsenal net. Both teams continued to attack into the second half and in the 61st minute, Valencia under-hit a back pass to De Gea and Welbeck took advantage, nipping the ball away from De Gea, go round the Spaniard and Knock the ball into an empty net. Things turned from bad to worse for Manchester United when Di Maria received his matching orders after being booked twice in 30 seconds to further worsen Manchester United’s chances.

Arsenal would now head into the semifinals at Wembley knowing that they have a realistic chance of successfully defending the FA Cup and by so doing, overtake the vanquished Manchester United as the most successful team in FA Cup history
